Excerpt from my novel "The Evil Within by Robert Siebers"

After dark, there was no one on the streets. Doors were bolted, shutters latched, no lights, and, no sign of life. Only fear stalked the night, a perfect place for the Gestapo to carry out their evil deeds under the cover of darkness. On this night murder and mayhem were on the agenda. Evil deeds were planned and would be done. The darkness is a strange thing, like a cloak that conceals all things under its protective veil. In the pitch black of night people will commit crimes and atrocities they would never consider in the brightness of the day. Evil cannot sustain itself in the light. The darkness sometimes opens the door to the deepest inner recesses of a man’s self and releases the evil within.

From my novel "The Evil Within"

Fear slowly swept through the Cubans’ eyes as he instinctively clutched the crucifix, which hung from the chain around his neck.

Fear of true evil, an invisible force unseen but ever present. Always waiting in the shadows, outside of the door or sitting unnoticed beside us. It waits for that moment of weakness to strike without mercy or conscience. Rocky prayed silently with his head bowed.
